Sensible sucks! I've been sensible all my life and look where it got me! Time to be a tad crazy, I think...
I'll wear black socks with trainers tomorrow

ha ha! I'll have the fashion police after me!
I do think, though, that being sensible isn't all it's cracked up to be. I mean, sure, you have to meet your mortgage payments, and your household bills, and debts etc. But why save for a rainy day? It's always raining in England! Spend what you can, when you can, I say. So long as you meet your regular payments, stuff the rest of it!
And that's really not a sensible thing to say, but tough

I actually think that is the MOST sensible thing to say and I really couldn't agree more.
Right, I must away to college and then work I'm afraid. Hope to catch up again later. *note to self... no blood to be spilt at work this afternoon.... least none that belongs to the four foots anyway*

Re: Evening Kids
Sometimes we do need to be sensible, but I've come to realise that sensible is boring. Why go to the grave having been sensible - but bored - all your life, when you can go out happy?
Ian, one of the sensible things that *must* be done is going to the supermarket to buy food in order to stay alive so you *can* enjoy the rest of your time! So go!

I suppose. It won't kill you - or I'd be dead many years ago!

Re: Evening Kids
buying chocolate is very much allowed and should be actively encouraged. I finished college early and went into work to see if I could cope starting an hour early (unpaid of course) decided after 30 seconds it was a bad idea. Have come home for what now amounts to be 10 minutes so I can enjoy my chicken wrap in peace. Shame I've got to go back, it's sunny here and I could have a lovely afternoon out in the garden with the animals.

I suppose pulling a sickie an hour after you first appeared and disappeared from work would be a bad idea?

Chocolate it is then, and I'll buy stuff to cook for dinner tonight.
Lasagne and potato wedges sounds like a good idea to me.

hmm I do think the idea may be flawed slightly; possibly something to do with me being symptom free an hour ago? bugger, it was a good plan too, now I've wrecked it.
Lasagne is good, potato wedges with it is bad. Salad is good.

Re: Evening Kids
hello people.
have found a hotel near edinburgh zoo which will do 2 aduts and 2 kids for 2 nights for £158 total. kids eat breakfast free it says. and it has a swimming pool. was considering a hotel near the party in the borders (like peebles) but think it would make more sense to have a late night but be closer to the zoo. rather than having to waste valuble zoo time travelling to the zoo.
have emailed other half, but hope he's up for it. i used expedia. pretty good. all the other hotels were way over 200 quid and they were awkward about kids.

Re: Evening Kids
Hotels in edinburgh can be quite expensive.
Have you had a look to see if there any suitable B&Bs just outside of edinburgh?

Re: Evening Kids
If you're only there for a night and a day, do you really think they'll get much use out of a pool? I think Ian's cheaper B&B option is a good one

Re: Evening Kids
Ah, that's reasonably near the zoo too, 2 or 3 miles away at most, with I think only 2 roundabouts.
I don't know if that bit of the town is being cocked up by the tram works just now though.
